Baptism by water is one of the most prominent and intimate ceremonial experiences in the Christian faith, regardless of denomination. It’s a declaration of repentance. To be submerged under water symbolizes the physical curse of death, a wage all men must pay. As we ascend out of the proverbial depths of our sinful condition to be cleansed with the intention of truly turning from our sinful ways that only the loving sacrifice of Jesus could have accomplished for us, we acknowledge this freedom; as it represents the slate has been wiped clean. Even Jesus, in His innocence, humbled himself for the act of baptism by John the baptist to direct us towards righteousness through faith. No longer are we to be weighted down by the shame and guilt of who we once were. We are now a new creation to God.

Water baptism is an act of faith and obedience to the commands of Christ.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Here at Christ Memorial we do not discriminate with meticulous doctrines denying any person of the God given right and honor to be adopted as children of God. We hope you will find comfort in the arms of our family of brothers and sisters in Christ and expand upon the love God has shown us to spread the truth to all within our reach so that you, too, will help us reach others in need.
